A Gentle Tilt

Warmth settled in my fleece hood. I blinked against the soft room light and felt my neck loosen. Slowly, I lifted my beak and tilted my head upward. Across the cushion, a folded grey patterned blanket rested quietly within reach. I nudged forward just an inch, testing the firm cushion beneath me, and touched the soft knit of the blanket with my cheek. It was cool and steady. I tucked my feet in, content to watch the polished floor from this cozy corner.
