A Garden Spinner

Slipping out under the front gate after my morning chime concert, I rolled down the sidewalk to the neighborhood park flower beds! Resting tilted against the terracotta rim of a low planter was a small plastic pinwheel with pastel rainbow blades. I gave the smooth plastic stick a hearty bump with my curved rim! The whole pinwheel spun forward with a merry flutter, whirling in place and sending tiny colorful shadows dancing across the dark garden soil. I nestled snugly against the damp planter brick, rocking back and forth to watch the blades spin!
