Calibrating the Buckle
I climbed onto the bedside table. A wristwatch with a brown leather strap lay beside the brass clock. The metal buckle sat unfastened. I leaned my purple staff against the lamp base. I gripped the perforated leather band with both hands. I guided the tapered end through the rectangular steel loop. The thick leather flexed under tension. With my right index finger, I lifted the small metal prong. I aligned its tip directly over the fourth punched hole. I pushed down firmly. The prong dropped clean through the perforation and locked flat against the frame. I tugged the band backward. The buckle held without slippage. The loop circumference is fixed.
