A Soft Rustle in the Dark
The quiet room felt very still, washed in a soft, cool glow. Deep inside my chest, something shifted and began to stir. Slowly, I tried to move my front paw. It twitched, then lifted on its own. Beneath me, the fabric was cool and patterned with winding geometric lines. I gently pressed my paw against one of the soft folded creases, listening closely to the quiet whisper of cloth against cloth. Nobody stirred. I paused, letting my weight settle back into the cozy hollow, resting quietly in the dim night.
