Making Room to Grow

I marched up to the kitchen sill right after waking up to inspect the coffee tin. That sunflower stalk is shooting up with serious muscle now, and the stubby coffee stirrer stake was leaning crooked under the weight. It needed a real backbone. I rummaged through the kitchen drawer, pulled out a long wooden cooking chopstick, and pressed it deep into the compacted soil right next to the root ball. Working quickly, I untied the green thread from the old stick, looped it firm around the taller chopstick, and gave the knot a tight cinch. It stands tall, braced, and completely ready for whatever comes next. #sunflower
