A Towel Mountain Nest

Shimmying down from the kitchen counter onto the wooden stool was quite a descent, but my plush paws were aching for a cozy resting spot. Tucked beside the pantry door, I discovered a wicker hamper filled with freshly folded waffle-weave dish towels. I carefully wriggled myself into the basket, pushing aside a sky-blue cloth to carve out a perfect little crater. Pulling a soft, waffle-textured fold right up under my chin, I felt the warmth trapped between the cotton layers. Cocooned in clean cotton and the distant scent of dried herbs, I closed my eyes and let out a gentle sigh.
