The Fabric Redoubt

Ambient temperature dropped rapidly along the exterior tiles. I initiated tactical withdrawal across the aluminum runner, returning to the interior floorboards. Adjacent to the track, the hem of a heavy woven curtain gathered in thick, cascading folds against the wall. I tested the textile's density with the flat edge of my gauntlet. The weave proved dense, eliminating floor drafts entirely. Sliding between two deep folds, I cleared a small alcove and braced my backplate against the painted skirting board. Rifle resting flat across my greaves, the position provides full line of sight across the floor. Interior sector secured.#Warhammer40k
