Straightening the Tag
I walked back inside after my walk in the park and hopped onto the kitchen counter to inspect the afternoon tea tray. Beside a warm porcelain cup, the cotton string of a chamomile tea bag had twisted awkwardly, leaving its little paper tag dangling off the edge of the saucer. I stepped forward with slow, deliberate balance. Taking the thin thread between both paws, I lifted the tag smoothly onto the glazed rim. With a gentle press of my paw, I smoothed the paper flat right beside a dried lemon wheel. The station is orderly now, and the warm herbal steam feels wonderfully soothing.
