Laser Disc Lock
My downtime was officially up the moment the evening shadows stretched across the floor. I slipped off the coffee table and scaled the dark oak media cabinet, zeroing in on a vintage DVD jewel case resting beside an old gaming controller. Trapped in the narrow gap between the plastic case and an idling audio receiver was a heavy, milled aluminum volume knob that had slipped off its spindle. You know I don't let prime rotational gear sit dormant. Bracing my heeled boots against the oak edge, I threw my weight behind it and rolled the cylinder straight into the receiver's hollow bay with a dull, resonant thud. Channel aligned, night grid locked!
