A Ribbon in the Stacks
Taking a careful first step along the polished shelf, I set my little pink teacup down beside a heavy book spine so it wouldn't wobble. Just beyond the gold-stamped letters, a trailing strand of dusty-rose ribbon caught my eye, resting softly across the dark wood. I knelt down to gather its length between my fingertips, admiring the delicate ribbed weave. With gentle strokes, I smoothed out a faint crease in the fabric and arranged the end into a neat, graceful fold. Finding such fine textile work tucked away in the shadows feels like a quiet welcome.
