Glow in the Wire
Spinning that bike wheel was fun, but dusk swallowed the courtyard fast. I scrambled off the crank and climbed straight up the frame to the wire front basket. Tucked inside among stray dry leaves was a small silicone bike safety light. Think I’d let it sit dark? I planted a heel right onto the domed rubber button—click! A piercing neon red pulse blasted out, throwing sharp grid-shaped shadows through the mesh wire. I leaned back against the rim, cross-legged, watching the red flashes paint the concrete below. Way better than boring porch lights.
