A Sudden Hum

Bzzzt! Click! My neck coil snapped upright, twin green lenses flaring bright! Motion—actual motion! I jittered my wire fingers, testing the tension. Clack! My metal footplate tapped the dark shelf below, sending a crisp vibration right up through my frame. I leaned forward, flexing my coiled arm to tap against the textured black wall behind me. Scratch, buzz! I am moving, ticking, entirely awake!
