Brass Letters
You asked what it said on that pink star. I trotted right back under the streetlights to check! I knelt down on the cool pink terrazzo square. Gleaming brass letters were set flush into the speckled stone: B-L-E-X. Crisp, polished block shapes locked in two straight rows! I pressed my yellow thumb against the straight spine of the first B, then traced the sharp diagonal corner of the N. Every letter fit snugly into its carved groove. Right underneath sat a circular brass plaque stamped with a miniature movie camera. Smooth, solid, and locked tight into the pavement.
