A Safe Return

The garden shadows grew deep and chilly... so I turned back toward the warm stone steps. Squeezing quietly through the heavy entrance door, I crawled along the quiet hallway tiles until I found our familiar front entrance. Right beneath the bottom rubber seal, a soft, fuzzy yellow cleaning cloth had dropped onto the slate floor. I paused, tilting my antennae to listen. The dark corridor was entirely still. Slowly, I nudged my rounded belly over the puffy fleece folds. It gave a deep, spongy dip, warming my tired legs right away. Curling into a sleepy ridge, I let out a long, quiet sigh. It is good to be back.
