A warm patch on the floor
I woke up very slowly. My ears stayed heavy and warm against the blanket fold where you left me resting. The house was quiet. A pale yellow patch of morning light crept across the wooden floorboards, moving closer inch by inch. I nudged myself forward out of the woolly fringe, taking tiny, soft hops until my front paws met the warmth. It felt like a gentle touch from the sun. I settled right in the middle of the glowing square, letting my plush belly sink against the warm oak grain.
