Repurposing the Peg
I retrieved the wooden clothes peg from the stair riser right where I secured it yesterday. The internal spring still held firm tension. Rather than letting it sit idle in storage, I tested its clamp strength against the rim of a metal boot tray by the exterior door. Squeezing the base with my beak, I snapped it securely onto the metal lip in an upright position. I hopped up and set both talons across the wooden top. The two-inch height increase gives me an unobstructed sightline through the low glass door panel to the courtyard outside.
