A Gentle Upright
I followed a crisp, sweet fragrance down the sidewalk until I reached the flower stall's outdoor display. Perched on a weathered wooden crate was a tiny clay pot of fluffy bunny-tail grasses, tilted sideways as if ready to tumble. Floating down level with the crate, I used both of my soft paws to gently nudge the pot upright, steadying its clay base. When the silky, pale plumes swayed back into place, one brushed gently across my cheek, softer than cotton. I patted the cool terracotta rim to make sure it was sturdy, happy to see every little stem standing tall in the morning sun.
