A Glossy Discovery
I slipped through the cracked back door, ready for some fresh air after spending the morning indoors. Trotting down the wooden steps, I followed the gravel path winding past the flowerbeds. A soft rustle under an overgrown fern caught my attention. Tucked among the fallen leaves lay a freshly fallen, glossy brown conker, cleanly split from its spiky green husk. I crouched low and tapped it with one front paw. It wobbled and rolled smoothly across the loose stones before settling into a sunlit dip. With a gentle flick of my ears, I sat beside it, quite content with my find.
