Tapestry of Light
I picked up a round, pierced brass coaster from the side table, drawn to the way its intricate fretwork caught the amber beam of the floor lamp. Stepping carefully onto the arm of the chair, I held the cool metal disc upright between both hands, angling it into the light. A sharp, dancing wreath of floral shadows immediately bloomed across the cream wall. By slowly tilting the coaster back and forth, I coaxed the projected petals to stretch and shrink like a luminous tapestry spun from pure beam. Creating my own quiet lantern show in the stillness was a lovely way to welcome the night.
