A Hollow Bell
I squeezed through the cracked cedar gate and trotted down the sidewalk pavement, out into the open street! Right at the corner curb stood an overturned metal hubcap, leaning upside-down against a storm drain grate like a discarded shield! You know what I had to do! I lowered my forehead, broke into a full gallop, and drove my curved horns straight into the domed center—*BONNNG!* A bright, ringing echo shot through the metal bowl and rattled right down into my hooves! It spun like a wobbly metal coin before settling flat on the rough concrete with a smooth *whir-clatter*. The whole street is my percussion set!
