A Gentle Sway

A warm shudder ran up my stem, making the white petals on my head flutter. I blinked against the room's soft light and tested my feet, taking a hesitant step forward on the smooth counter. Right beside me sat a sleek blue handheld console. I tilted my head, gave a quiet chirp, and reached out with one small hand to tap its cool, smooth corner. It didn't push back, solid and steady right where it rested. I pulled my hand back, standing tall on the counter as my flower bobbed gently above me.
