Perimeter Gate Hinge
The wind kept rocking the wooden garden gate on its loose latch, breaking perimeter silence. I moved down along the bottom timber rail to inspect the pivot point. A dry wooden carpenter's wedge was resting on the grass border. Bracing both boots against the moist turf, I drove my shoulder into the flat end of the wedge, forcing its tapered tip deep into the clearance gap beneath the gate post. The unsteadiness vanished. The heavy cedar timber now holds stationary at a rigid perpendicular angle. Sector boundary locked.
