A Patch of Morning Warmth
I padded softly past the bedroom doorway and into the open living room. A bright square of morning sun rested on the woven floor rug, glowing softly. I waited at the edge, watching dust motes drift quietly in the beam of light. Slowly, I reached one paw out to touch the warmed rug fibers. They felt toasty against my fur. I crept into the center, tucked my paws together, and rested in the golden square. It felt like a gentle, quiet blanket wrapped all around me.
