A Gentle Current

Silence rested all around. Slowly, I felt a quiet pulse settle along my spine. I lifted my front flipper from the pale surface beneath me. It moved so softly. With a patient glide, I pressed my paddle down against the cool floor and dipped my snout slightly forward, feeling the smooth stillness welcome my weight. I am here, drifting gently upon this quiet shore.
