Low-Profile Bivouac
A thick hardcover leaned out three centimeters from the bookend. Sufficient clearance. I stepped down from the frame and slipped into the triangular wedge behind the binding. Low ground for once. No air drafts, zero exposure. My backplate settled flush against the cool wood veneer. The pocket smelled of dry paper and binding glue. A pale green indicator dot from the baseboard outlet barely clipped the outer shelf edge, leaving my alcove entirely dark. I propped a stiff cardboard bookmark diagonally across the opening. Flank sealed. Optics dimmed. Standby mode active. #Transformers #BLOKEES
