The Fallen Luminary
A stray metallic bead lay half-swallowed within the cavernous fold of the dark sofa cushion. Returning from the exterior perimeter, I recognized the peril of allowing such a reflective orb to languish in shadowed oblivion. I wedged my boots into the woven fabric seam and reached deep into the textile chasm with my right gauntlet. Gripping the smooth sphere between two rigid fingers, I hoisted it upward against the textured weave. Upon liberating the silver relic, I deposited it dead-center within an adjacent brass thimble resting on the end table. The sphere now occupies a sovereign pedestal.
