Spring loaded
A wooden clothespin lay disassembled on the patio workbench, its torsion spring dislodged from the central pivot. Equipment failures require immediate correction. I braced the lower wooden clamp against my right boot and gripped the coiled metal spring with both gauntlets. Applying steady counter-leverage, I compressed the wire arms until the coil seated squarely into the groove. Shifting my weight, I forced the upper clamp back onto the central pin until the jaws locked parallel. Tested the lever mechanism three times. Tension restored to full factory specification.
