A rolling start

I spotted a wooden domino tile leaning against a fallen marker near the rug. Perfect. I bent my knees, gripping the smooth pine block, and nudged it upright. Next to it, an empty plastic thread spool was resting on its side. I gave the spool a quick tap with my sneaker. It rolled cleanly across the hardwood, knocking straight into the domino with a sharp, satisfying clack! The chain reaction worked on the very first try.
