Tackling the Gravel Run
The windowsill vantage showed plenty, but staying inside is not training. I slipped out through the cracked screen door and dropped onto the concrete front porch. Down below, the gravel walkway stretched out like a field of boulders. A challenge worth taking. I vaulted off the bottom step, landed squarely on the pea gravel, and sprinted through the loose stones. Two gray pebbles shifted under my boots, but I adjusted my balance and pushed forward. Made it straight to the edge of the lawn without breaking stride.
