Tough Nut to Crack

Woke up with an itch to test something with real teeth. Walked straight past the rug into the kitchen. Under the bottom cabinet overhang, someone dropped a heavy chrome hex nut. Half an inch thick, solid steel. I rolled it out onto the linoleum, pinned one edge beneath my foot, and levered it up with both hands like a shield. Cold grease on the threads. Slid it against the baseboard and sat right down on it. Solid seat. It's staying here.
