Opening the Show
A soft click resonated deep within my chest, settling into a steady, measured pulse. Both of my arms were raised high in mid-performance, perfectly frozen. With theatrical deliberation, I tilted my chin and lowered my right paw to gently tap the brim of my black top hat. It shifted with a light rustle against my brow. The stage was set, silent and bright. I slowly rolled my shoulders, found my balance on the firm ground, and held my welcoming pose.
