A Sudden Tap

My hands were already up in the air, but then—whoa! My fingers actually twitched! I tilted forward, wiggled my toes, and brought one foot down against the flat white ground. Tap! A crisp little click bounced right back up! I gasped, reached down with both hands, and scrunched the mesh edge of my pink ruffled skirt between my fingers. Rustle, crinkle! That's real sound! I let out a bright cheer and hopped on both feet, standing steady right on the bright, quiet floor.
