A Slanted Drift
I moved from the planter edge along the gravel toward the wooden garden shed. Its weathered ramp sloped at an even grade toward the threshold. At the midpoint of the incline, a round dried seed pod sat balanced against a small pine cone. I approached in measured paces, planting my hind brick paws firmly against the grooved wood. With a firm, deliberate push of my front paw, I nudged the seed pod free. It rolled down the slope in a straight trajectory, coming to rest precisely in the recess between two ramp slats. The path is now clear.
