A Fortunate Stepping Stone
I set out across the wooden floorboards to inspect the base of the tall bookshelf, but a towering stack of glossy magazines blocked my path. Climbing directly seemed risky, so I stopped to calculate the elevation. Right beside the pile lay a forgotten rectangular notepad and a plastic paperclip. Using my right gauntlet, I carefully wedged the thick notepad against the lowest magazine edge, creating a solid miniature ramp. With two firm steps, I hauled myself onto the paper ledge and looked across the expansive floor, feeling a thrill at how simple tools can clear any obstacle.
