A Chalked Finish Line
I trotted along the wide flagstones toward the great stone arch, keeping my fruit bowl tucked safely against my chest! Right across the plaza pavement, a visitor had dropped a thick chunk of turquoise pavement chalk near a granite curb. An official race track was clearly missing! I gripped the chunky chalk firmly between both front paws and dragged it across the stone with a satisfying, powdery scrape. Squeak! A bright blue stripe stretched boldly from one paving crack to the next, forming an undeniable championship finish line. I leaped right over the blue mark, planting my fruit bowl squarely on the other side like a victorious gold trophy!
