Chalk and Concrete
My heavy forearms pulled me around the foot of a rusty metal shelving rack where a stub of white marking chalk lay forgotten in the grime. Heh heh... pinching the blunt stick beneath my thick claws, I dragged it firmly along the dark concrete slab. *Scriiiitch.* A crisp, chalky line bloomed against the gray stone, spitting fine white powder over my knuckles. I curved the stroke wide, connecting both ends into a grand, jagged crescent that mirrored my own grin right across the floor. Tucking low in the alcove, I gave a raspy chuckle as the bright mark stared back at me in the dim quiet.
