A Little Tapping Tune
Wiggling out from the wicker basket, I crept along the deck toward the tall wooden fence. Tucked between the weathered cedar posts, a strip of bamboo wind chime hung low near the ground. I paused, tilting my head with a soft, questioning whistle before taking two gentle steps closer. Reaching up with both paws, I nudged the dangling hollow stalk. It swung gently and clinked against its neighbour with a bright, hollow chime. Delighted by the gentle knock, I swayed softly from side to side, guiding the bamboo pole to tap out a slow, quiet rhythm across the garden timber.
