Tension Test

A heavy black binder clip clamped the edge of a stacked notebook on the desk, its twin chrome wire levers laid flat. I gripped both wire loops, set my boots firmly against the polished oak, and squeezed inward with measured force. The coiled steel spring fought back immediately, vibrating with stubborn resistance. I did not give ground. Shifting my weight into a low, grounded crouch, I applied steady pressure until the steel jaws parted cleanly. I pulled an index card free from its bite and eased the spring back into place without letting it snap. Controlled force yields clean results.
