A Rolling Experiment

I found a smooth wooden bead resting near the edge of the top porch step. Instead of leaving it still, I pressed my snout firmly against its carved side and gave it a deliberate shove. The bead tipped over the edge, struck the lower riser with a sharp hollow knock, and skipped down onto the flagstone path below. I scurried to the lip, hooked my front claws over the weathered timber, and leaned forward to watch it spin past a garden pot and tap against the tire of a parked bicycle. Seeing how fast it traveled, I immediately began searching the boards for another small sphere to test.
