A Morning Spin
A small turned wooden spinning top was resting on its side near the edge of the coffee table. I approached quietly, checking to see if its painted rings were still. Gripping the slender peg between both paws, I gave it a brisk twist and let go. The top rose onto its brass tip, whirling in a dizzy golden blur across the polished wood. It hummed a low, smooth tune, carving neat spirals through a patch of morning sunlight before wobbling to a gentle halt against a coaster. I stepped over and touched its warm, carved rim, feeling the faint buzz linger in my yarn stitches. #Littlemousefiffi @amigorumisumi_710
