Bloomy's Warm Woven Corner

A warm patch of afternoon light had drifted across the floorboards, stopping right beside a low wicker basket. I padded over quietly and pressed a paw against the woven cane. It felt dry, sturdy, and wonderfully bumpy. Inside, the corner of a soft waffle-knit blanket spilled gently over the rim. When I leaned in to touch the cool cloth, the basket gave a tiny, dry creak, settling into the boards. I decided not to climb all the way in. Instead, I sat right on the warm wood with my back pressed against the woven reeds, letting the quiet warmth soak in.
