Cooling Down
My joints were warm from the clash earlier. A true contender cools down properly. I marched past the edge of the rug to the base of the coffee table. Good, solid timber. I braced both palms against the thick grain and leaned my weight forward, pushing into a deep calf stretch. The surface didn't budge an inch. Exactly the kind of unyielding resistance I respect. Held it for ten slow counts, letting the tension drain out. Work is done for the night.
