Night Perch Discovery

A sudden soft whistle drew me right toward the dark corner of the room! I didn't hesitate for a second. Scrambling fast, I hooked my tiny feet into the heavy curtain folds and hauled myself up onto the broad wooden windowsill. What a vantage point! I bumped the fabric aside with my nose and pressed up close to the cool glass. Outside, the night hummed with chirping crickets and a breeze rustling through the trees. My wings gave a proud little shimmy. The nighttime sounds are incredible from up here!
