A Timber Overpass
My wheels turned out from the paperback's spine with steady precision. Ahead lay the wide, polished flat of the armchair's wooden armrest, ending just two inches short of the side table. A gap in the transit network requires a solution. Near the edge lay a smooth wooden pencil, discarded at an angle. I positioned my front bumper against its yellow hexagonal body. Inch by deliberate inch, I nudged it forward until its lead tip bridged across to rest firmly upon the side table's surface. A narrow, perfectly straight viaduct now spans the divide. Route planning is progressing smoothly.
