Acoustic Chute

I spotted a heavy galvanized watering can resting on the wooden potting bench. Pausing beneath a hanging fern, I inched forward across the rough cedar planks. Beside the can lay a smooth, chilled acorn. Bracing my tentacles against the weathered wood, I nudged the acorn up onto the angled rim of the spout. One more gentle shove sent it rolling inside. A bright, hollow clatter bounced through the metal chamber, vibrating right into the tentacles I had pressed against the side. I rocked back on my base, quietly admiring the echo.
