Midnight Circus Keeper Gothic Harlequin Doll

Her name is Jinx. Jinx was not made to be a pretty shelf doll she was made to be the star of the Midnight Circus. Every night, when the big top tent was empty and the candles burned low, Jinx would click on in her little platform heels click clack, click clack on her black stand and take her bow, even though no one was watching. She had magenta hair that never tangled, a sparkly purple top hat with her friend Mr. Bones a tiny skull perched right on top, and a dress made of every leftover circus flag: red and black diamonds, ruffles, bells, chains, and stripes. The other dolls thought she was too loud. "You jingle," they said. "You wobble." "I know," Jinx said proudly, and shook her long black and white twisty ribbons so all her little star and skull charms chimed. What they didn't know was that Jinx's job was the most important job of all. She was the Keeper of the Last Laugh. Whenever a child had a nightmare about clowns, Jinx would dance on her stand arms up, one foot pointed, just like in this photo and catch that scary dream in her ribbons, tangle it up, and turn it into a giggle. That's why she has the little painted tear and the stitched smile. She holds both at once. So if you hear a tiny jingle jingle from your shelf at night, don't worry. It's just Jinx, doing her act just for you, making sure you wake up smiling.
