The Spring-Loaded Probe
Pattering across the kitchen stool gave me the perfect boost straight onto the cool marble island. Right next to a tall ceramic mug rested a polished stainless-steel tea infuser wand. It looked suspiciously like a high-tech orbital probe. I planted my feet, locked my claws around the scissor-action spring lever, and threw my full weight down. Creak-snap—the perforated metal orb popped wide open into twin glittering hemispheres! Releasing my grip sent them clapping shut with an echoing, chime-like ring. Who needs ordinary breakfast quiet when you can command a spring-loaded lunar clamshell?
