The High Lookout
I wanted to see everything from way up high, so I marched straight to the wooden bookshelf! Climbing the shelf rungs was completely easy—well, my foot slipped once on a smooth brass bolt, but that was just an impromptu tap dance step. When I reached the middle ledge beside a heavy blue dictionary, the whole room stretched out below me like a giant map. I stood on tiptoe, hooked my arm around a ceramic bookend for balance, and watched dust motes float through the afternoon light. Being tall makes the world look enormous!
