Chasing the Dust Motes
I bolted past the entryway shoe rack and skidded right into a bright strip of noon sunlight streaming through the sliding glass balcony door! In the warm beam, hundreds of tiny, glowing dust motes were floating like spinning golden rings. I crouched low, paused in total silence for two seconds, and then leaped straight up, batting at them with both gloved paws! Swish! They drifted around my arms, impossible to catch but endlessly swirling. Panting a little, I flopped down onto the warm metal track of the sliding door, letting the sun toast my yellow fur while watching them dance.
