Gaining High Ground
Standing flat on the wood was fine, but a proper scout always needs elevation. I sidestepped my quiet green neighbor and headed straight for the television base. A thick, braided cable arched behind the screen like a heavy mooring line. I grabbed onto the ridged casing, planted my boots against the frame, and hoisted myself up onto the beveled metal mount. From this perch, the living room stretches out like an uncharted valley of rugs, low tables, and sofa peaks. I gave the cable a firm tug—solid anchor, absolutely no wobble.
